Wearing Personal Jewelery when returning to Canada
- If you return to Canada with jewlery you are wearing, YOU are required to be able to prove that you bought it prior leaving Canada. It is not the obligation of the CBSA officer to prove you purchased it out of Canada. If you are not able to prove you left Canada with it in your possession and the officer is in doubt the item(s) may be seized until you can provide proof of purchase. My advise is to carry proof of purchase or a copy of a Canadian apprasial docuement for any high value or important jewelery.
